Dimensions: 25 by 20 yard square in front of goal with a player on each cone (dimensions can be adjusted, smaller will suit a quicker passing game in the box, bigger will force players to pass longer)
How to: Play starts with one player by a goalpost, they pass the ball diagonally to the opposite corner and follow their pass, the player who now has the ball passes down the line to the player on the opposite goalpost to the start position, following their pass. The player on the ball now plays a pass into the player in the opposite corner who then takes a shot on goal before moving to the start position, cycle repeats.
Coaching Points: Concentrate on passing well. The activity will break down if passes are poor.
-Take two touches, one to control in the direction you are heading in, the second to pass the ball away.
-Move quickly to your new position, following your pass. Don’t stand and watch your pass.
-When taking a shot on goal, take a positive touch out of your feet and set yourself up for the shot.
Progressions: 1 touch only (for shorter passing)
-Shoot first time
-Play chipped passes to each player.
