TWO PASS SHOOTING
Dimensions: 20x 20 Yards and one goal, two cones 5 Yards apart opposite the goal at an angle. One player on each cone who will act as midfielders.
How to: Line Strikers up in one corner opposite the goal. First striker passes the ball into the Midfielder closest to the goal. From there the midfielders make two passes: 1 pass is a layoff back to the other midfielder who returns the pass back. The player who now has the ball lays the ball off to the side for the striker to run onto and take a first time shot.
Midfielders stay where they are; rotate in and out with other strikers every few minutes
Coaching Points: Midfielders: Pass quickly but accurately. Try to set up the Striker by putting the ball into space allowing them time to run onto the ball and strike cleanly
Strikers: Watch the play build; hold your run until you know where the ball will be played, step into the shot and strike through the line of the ball. Focus on technique when striking the ball.
Increase the area size (Passing/Distance from goal)
Add a Goalkeeper
Midfielder chips the ball into the path of the striker who must strike the bouncing ball or hit the volley
Make a mirror image of the layout on the opposite side and have the same drill running with an emphasis on left foot shooting
